Feb. 2012: “The teachers are wonderful”

Our family has been delighted with our experience at Newcastle Preschool. We have actually sent 3 of our children there, and each one of them have loved it! The teachers are wonderful. It’s hard to pick our favorite one! One of our daughters was very shy about school for the first little while, but her teacher was very patient and caring, and her approach made all the difference.

The curriculum is very well-rounded. I like how they rotate around to several different activities throughout the day like music, art, playtime, storytime, snack, and outdoor play, so they are not stuck in the same room the whole time. We also love all the cute art projects they come home with!

Most importantly, we always feel safe sending our children there. Everyone at Newcastle really understands preschoolers and I feel like they genuinely love teaching our children.

Newcastle is a great, well balanced school. I appreciate the teachers and the “Love and Logic” they practice in their classrooms. The curriculum includes the fundamental needs of a preschooler entering kindergarten. My kids (I have twins) will not be “kids” for long and I want them to enjoy school and learning from a young age. I feel that Newcastle provides fun learning experience.

Thanks Ms. Kathleen for the love and devotion that Newcastle provides. My kids think Ms. Debi is special and so do I!

Thanks,
Heather Klingler

Newcastle is one of the best preschools we have seen. We had our son in another school and every time he had class we had to fight him to go. He is in Ms Marcies 3-4 year old class and begs us to take him. Ms. Marcie always takes the time to hear our sons stories, answer his questions (no matter how silly they are) and makes him feel so important. He comes home singing songs about the months of the year, and the days of the week. The amount of knowledge he has aquired in 8 months is very impressive. We love the curriculum, the balance between school and play, and the social interaction Newcastle provides. We also love the monthly newsletter, the report cards, the communication with the teachers. We are so lucky that we found this school.

Thanks
maggie

Two years ago when we started looking for pre-schools for our daughter to attend we lucked out and found Newcastle. The first thing that catches the eye is the amazing playground complete with covered sandbox, mature trees, tree fort, slides, pirate ship, and basketball court(thankfully not at regulation height). Once we took a tour of the school we knew this was the place for us. The children grow and learn in a fun, safe, loving, structured environment. Our daughter is now on her second year, and we’ve watched her go from an incredibly shy toddler to an outgoing little girl. As for the teachers, we loved our daughter’s teacher the first year so much we re-arranged our schedule just to have her again this year. I can’t think of anything negative we found with this amazing preschool, but if I had to give one small criticism it would be the need for an online newsletter. We’re sad that our daughter’s time at Newcastle is almost up, but we look forward to our son starting in the fall. Newcastle is the perfect start for any kid.

Feb, 2012: “We can’t say enough about Newcastle”

This is a copy of the review I recently posted to googleplaces.com. I could have added that I’ve been a social worker for 17 years, working both at DCFS and as a child therapist. I consider myself fairly particular when it comes to professionals involved with my children and places my children are allowed to go without me. That said, I have loved everything about your school, your program and your staff. You all do a wonderful job! Tess Hortin

Review:
“We can’t say enough about Newcastle. We always tell people it has all the structure, science, and organization of a large, well-established school. But it has an intimate, warm and personal feel. The entire well-trained, highly qualified staff get to know the children. That always seems remarkable to me as there are a number of children enrolled annually. Our son attended the pre-K classes and was very well-prepared for Kindergarten. Our daughter is in a 3 year old class and loves it. The teachers maintain a quiet control through Love and Logic that affords the children safety and confidence. At the same time, the children feel loved and respected enough to express, explore and play. The curriculum is comprehensive and well-rounded. Children have access to a wonderful music teacher, a customized outdoor play area, multiple classrooms, art projects, creative toys and experiential learning. We have been impressed with the level of communication available to parents with both teachers and the owners/directors. We have often said the only reason we would take our children to another preschool would be a move out of state. Even then, we might consider the drive…”

Jan. 2012: “We are big fans of the Newcastle School”

We have had one child attend previously and another one that is attending now. We will have another child start next year. They have a great concept in their approach to learning. I feel that they the prepare the children very well for kindergarten. The outdoor play area is amazing. Check it out for yourself.
