Teacher Uniforms (Sep 1994)

Newcastle teachers have always worn common colors and styles so customers could always distinquish who is a teacher and who is a a parent.

Lisa, Kathleen & Natalie

Here Lisa May, Kathleen and Natalie Brown show our first teacher uniforms. Out of fashion even by early 90s standards, it was Kathleen’s intent to have teacher attire reflect the “old-school” feel of the school.

Over the next few years teacher uniforms would evolve to more practical khaki slacks, skirts, shorts and forest shirts and sweaters. The consensus of the teachers on this jumper was that it made them all look like they had huge chests and were really, really pregnant…. so the jumper lasted just a couple of years.
