Computer Classes
Computer classes are available after school every day.
Newcastle’s after-school computer classes are an effective way for preschoolers to get reading reinforcement in a regular (twice-weekly) computer lab format.
Over the course of the semester, each child will systematically work through a number of outstanding reading/phonics software programs, moderated by one of our computer specialists. There are eight 30-minute instruction periods each month.
Typically only 4-5 year olds should take these classes because most 3 year olds don’t have sufficient attention spans long enough for a 30-minute instruction period.
In order to allow more students to have an opportunity to take a class, we have divided the classes into two four-month semesters: Sep-Jan and Feb-May. Because we have limited positions, computer classes for all periods fill up very fast – usually on the first day of enrollment. The best way to get into a computer class is to call Larry at 553-0622.
Computer classes for preschoolers are also available during Summer Fun Camp.
