4-5 Music, Food & Play
Pre-K students participate in a music experience each day. They learn and practice an entirely new set of songs each month. The songs are related to our social studies themes but are different than those they learned the previous year. The students present two off-site musical programs for parents, one at mid-year and one at year-end. Throughout the year students participate in cooking projects and food experiences which are related to their social studies subjects. Play continues to be a key element of a Pre-K student’s experience. Daily academic rotation includes a session of outdoor play on the playground and classroom free play is generally included as part of the academic learning centers in both the reading and math blocks each day. Daily preschool snacks and all school materials are provided by the school.
