HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES

Newcastle School loves Halloween and all the fun activities that happen at school.  Children are invited to wear costumes at school on either Wednesday, October 30th or Thursday, October 31st.  Please be respectful of the sensitivity level of our young students and their parents by not dressing children in costumes that promote or portray aggression, violence, or horror.  Children may not wear masks, bring weapons, or small accessories that may get lost at school.  You may send a large paper sack with your child’s name written on it in case your child chooses to take their costume off.  It is customary to send one piece of candy per classmate to school with your child to share with their friends.  Please send 8 pieces (Pre-Three) or 12-13 pieces for our 3-5 year old classes.   Don’t forget to include a treat for you child.   Treats should be “store-bought” candy or fruit snacks only, no homemade treats, and need to be individually wrapped (no loose candy).  

Prior to Halloween, each child will make their own treat bags during art for their candy exchange.  They will also be making a special snack to eat at school.  Although we love parent volunteers, please know that on special activity days like Halloween, we have plenty of helping hands with our staff and parent volunteers are not needed.  Thank you for understanding.
