Assessments and Parent Communication

Parent participation is encouraged at the school and teachers are trained to interact with parents at school and on the phone. Teachers communicate to parents regularly via phone calls, assessments and informal notes.

Newcastle contracts with a professional trainer to conduct basic child first aid training and CPR recertification for all teachers every year.

Safety and Security Training

All employees at the school are instructed in security protocols, emergency management and child safety.
Newcastle has a 16 camera survellience system that monitors all classrooms, the playground and parking lot. The school conducts monthly fire evacuation drills to help train staff and students how to react in an emergency. In almost three decades of operation, Newcastle has never had a serious accident or security incident.
